Having a Gallery Wall at home means decorating that wall in your living room or hallway – or any other space you want – in a contemporary and beautiful way. It can be large or small, and made up of prints, canvases or personal photographs. Anything goes!
In my living room, for example, I reserved the largest wall, where the sofa is, to create our “Wanderlust Wall”, which is nothing more than a composition of frames with photos from our travels. A friend of mine decided to put black and white family photos in black frames in the entrance hall . There are no rules, just some advice!
HOW TO DO IT:
Creating a Gallery Wall is an ambitious and fun project, but it also requires some patience.
First , you will have to choose the wall to be decorated . It can be the largest wall in the space or not! There are walls that call for a composition of this kind, without any apparent explanation.
Secondly , you will have to select the images , which must all be within the same theme or tone, depending on the objective, of course. If necessary, print them.
Thirdly , you should choose the frames for each image or photograph. You can choose frames that are all the same and in the same color or, if you prefer something more eclectic, you can choose frames that are all different, bearing in mind that frames with different colors, shapes and textures will enrich the project.
Fourthly , the part of the framing , perhaps the most complicated. For this, we have a master tip:
-
Place the frames on top of sheets of paper and trace around them. This will give you an idea of the size of the frame.
-
Cut along the lines and repeat the process for all the frames.
-
When you have all the papers cut, have some tape or tape handy. bostik .
-
Now what you have to do is arrange the photos on the wall. Place and remove them as you wish. This way, you will be sure of how the composition will look without having to nail anything to the wall.
-
Don't forget that it may still be necessary to take some measurements of the wall and the spaces that each painting will have between them.
-
If it is easier for you to create this composition, start with the largest painting and see where you want to place it: centered, to the side...
-
Of course, you will also need to have an idea of where the composition begins and ends. But this is also something you can do when you are sticking the sheets on the wall.
