DIY - Give your objects a new function!

DIY, customization, do it yourself are synonyms and represent for me, more than a concept, they represent a lifestyle, a new look at life, a way of transforming it.

This month I wanted to present you a DIY project that is accessible to everyone, easy and that makes a difference. I chose: table decoration - DIY centerpiece .

Spring has arrived, the days are getting longer and lunches/dinners with family and friends are starting to appear. Whether it's a get-together between family or friends, there will always be one thing in common: the family around a table. We want a table that will make our guests fall in love, a table that combines light and simplicity with sophistication.

And you won't have to spend money to achieve it. Sustainability and awareness to avoid waste, for conscious and responsible consumerism are also present in my proposal. A totally sustainable DIY centerpiece , in which the trimmings from the cutting of a tree in your garden or a branch that has fallen will be the protagonists.

If you don't believe it's possible, check out the next images.

I designed the table decoration myself. The DIY centerpiece didn't cost me any money, as I don't have a garden or fruit trees. It only cost me an hour of my day in the countryside, listening to the birds while I looked for fallen branches on the ground. Is that all? Yes, then I just had to remove the damaged leaves, cut them to size and place them on the table in the desired direction. To add light and more glamour, I placed some white candles on top of a candle holder . Or is it a candle holder ? In fact, it isn't. It's a soap dish . You read that right! I also wanted to show you that we can adapt and transform objects, giving them a new function. For me, it's too reductive to confine a given object to the function for which it was built. With creativity and imagination, we can give them a "new life". Simple, very simple.

Now do you believe that it is possible to decorate a table with what nature offers us? Opt for sustainable decoration, avoiding buying decorative pieces that will have limited use and opt for versatile pieces. As for tableware and glasses, opt for timeless patterns and shapes. That way, they will be used for many years. These are my VIVA choices.
