A house decorated with Mediterranean influences means that it essentially draws inspiration from southern Greece, Italy and Spain, where decorative elements include rustic and naturalistic elements, such as wood, wicker or raffia, porcelain or glass.

This is a style of decoration that integrates harmoniously with a contemporary interior aesthetic, more common in urban settings. The rustic and naturalistic elements make your home visually richer and more interesting, more welcoming and also help to make your home more organized and minimalist, as well as encouraging much more ecological routines .

We usually find all objects “in plain sight” and their functionality is combined with their assumed presence in the decoration. I am referring, for example, to choosing a cutlery storage basket to place on a shelf, the use of different styles of baskets for all purposes, from plant pots to storing food inside the refrigerator (thus avoiding plastic or packaging from the supplier of packaged products!).

A tip for this trend: the chairs at the table don't necessarily need to match each other. How about giving in to a wicker rocking chair for an indoor space?

Still associated with the good practice of not using plastic, it is worth taking advantage of glass jars with lids, to always have water on hand to serve.

There is no shortage of fresh flowers or dried plants in Mediterranean decor and a very useful tip is to take advantage of classically designed water jugs, which can be placed strategically on the floor or as a table centrepiece.
