It's called Mid-Century and the 50s and 60s brought it to the limelight. However, it is increasingly used in the decoration of homes, shops and hotels.
Designers and architects such as Arne Jacobsen, the couple Charles and Ray Eames or Verner Panton set the stage for these pieces to shine and they became so famous and special that they endure to this day.
Pieces like the Egg Chair, the Eames Lounge Chair and the Panton Chair have forever changed what it means to have comfortable furniture with aesthetic perfection. Ergonomic furniture combined with minimalist décor makes mid-century a style of choice that ranges from the most bohemian to the most modern.
In both, clean lines, geometric shapes, furniture with tapered legs, wooden, iron and leather elements are used extensively.
